I have officially crossed over to the "dark side" as my friend Ariel calls it; I got a blackberry curve. I KNOW I'M SUCH A JAP (jewish american princess, unfortunately not just japanese.) I am excited because most of my friends also have blackberries > I can bbm them > my mom won't get a three hundred dollar texting bill this month and offer for me to contribute to its payment. I also got a periwinkle case and made the background flowing wheat. I also named it "Gabby" ironically. Tried to avoid the sparkly pink gel cases, but no judgment Ariel. Thought I'd post some music that reminds me of self-conscious, daddy-money toting divas, or music that they listen to.
Literally the ANTHEM for all the JAPs who try to pretend they're hipster
"You can find me at Urban Outfitters buying sweatshop shoes and a book about prison,
Boycotting everything in sight, but I gotta look good for the rally tonight."
Maxx Moon - Urban Outfitters

djDOYOU - That Girl Worth Fighting For (Wayne v. Pharrell v. Mulan)
Just saw "The Hangover" for at least the fourth time and it was funny as ever. After I illegally created an mp3 of Ed Helm's "Tiger Song," I realized I should do a post about some of my favorite songs garnered with a comedic touch.
The inspiration: Ed Helms (as Stu) - The Tiger Song
The FOTC are old news, but here are some harder to find songs!

Awww! Look at the cute little stomachache microbe that's making my life so miserable! I pulled a literal all-nighter since I was feeling so sick. However, all those hours did give me the chance to explore lesser known Hulu tv shows, such as Community and the Rotten Tomatoes review show. I still feel like I'm going to implode from the inside, so here's a list of my favorite chill out songs to get my mind off of, you know, vomiting.
Sigur Ros - All Alright
Sigur Ros - Hoppipolla
Sigur Ros - Untitled #4
Air France - June Evenings

Obviously I didn't keep my promise. It's been six months wooooo. In that period of time, I (suicidally) decided to re-apply to the colleges I never got to, as I applied to Swarthmore early decision. A giant pile of college essay bullshit later, I am transferring to Brown University next year and I'm really excited. Providence is beautiful.
Check out Brown's radio station BSR that I will be joining!
Alright, let's bring it all back home.
Jack Tatum's solo project - everything new and good recently is shoegaze
Wild Nothings - Chinatown
Wild Nothings - Summer Holiday
Wild Nothings - Promise

Wooo for Christmas cheer. Less "woo" for the torrent of tourists who have seemingly come to New York just to walk very, very slowly. What I really want for Christmas: a pop up blocker that actually blocks pop-ups. One sneaky little bastard of a window just tried to sell me a Clinton commemorative coin. WHAT?? Oh also, thank you Santa for the health care bill passing in the Senate even if its not perf.
I don't know if the Pipettes are that talented, but they're super cute.
The Pipettes - White Christmas
Makes me cry, makes me FEEEEL. so pretentious.
Sufjan Stevens - Star of Wonder
Such a good song to put on repeat... and name your blog posts after
Rufus Wainwright - Spotlight on Christmas
Such weirdos. Do NOT watch "Christmas on Mars" ever.
The Flaming Lips - A Change at Christmas

No one cares if I update (no one reads it) annnnd honestly, I don't care very much either (school, friends, real hobby-type commitments.) So here are my faves of the week. That's a good goal: an update every week!
Any song past ten minutes (this one is 10:40) earns the word "epic" regardless of how good it is. But this one is good, swearzies.

I love thaooooo!!! So good and so perfect for any occasion
Thao Nguyen with the Get Down Stay Down - Cool Yourself
An oldie but a goodie.

That's my home! Still at swat, still dying from work. There has been one development pertinent to this blog: I got a radio show! Go to wsrnfm.org to access podcasts for "Mouichido," my "electronic" show that really just plays whatever the fuck I want that happens to have synthesizers in it. Here are some highlights from the last week:
This song goes out pizza hut, taco bell, and those who appreciate them.

Just finished reading Heart of Darkness by Conrad for the first time and its awesome shit. That is a smart man right there. Super stressed out at college; I've already missed two classes and I have a sinking suspicion that balancing five clubs may be statistically impossible. My main antidote for the weary day is just, well, aforementioned awesome shit.I wish bullshit "hip hop" radio stations played good hip hop.
KiD CuDi - Soundtrack 2 My Life
Do butterflies have bones?
Butterfly Bones - xoxo
This band is like the Format. I love them a lot but I'm a lil embarrassed
